Studying in the UK: applying through UCAS
Applications to UK universities at bachelor's level go through a single platform called UCAS. It is not a scholarship but the way to apply; some universities offer their own scholarships.
How does it work?
- One application lets you choose up to 5 courses or universities.
- The application fee for the 2027 cycle is £34.50, the same for international students.
Deadlines for 2027 entry
- 15 October 2026: Oxford, Cambridge, medicine, dentistry and veterinary courses.
- 13 January 2027 at 18:00 UK time: the main deadline for most courses.
Documents
- Transcripts and baccalaureate certificate.
- A personal statement.
- A reference from a teacher.
- An English language certificate if the university requires it.
Translation
Transcripts and certificates not issued in English must come with the original and an English translation, either from the issuing institution or from a professional translator, signed and stamped. Durham University, for example, warns that a transcript without a translation may not be considered.
Information last checked on 9 October 2026. Dates and requirements can change from year to year. References: UCAS: 2027 deadline, Durham University: documents accepted, 2027 application fee (UCAS).
