Translating documents for UK visas
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires a full English translation of every document that is not in English or Welsh, including documents in Arabic or French, whether you apply for a visit, study, work or family visa.
What UKVI requires
When you apply from Morocco or from outside the UK, the translation must be complete and able to be independently verified by the Home Office. It must include:
- confirmation from the translator that it is an accurate translation of the original document
- the date of the translation
- the translator's full name and signature
- the translator's contact details
If you apply from inside the UK, the translator's credentials are also required. Notarisation is generally not needed.
What I provide
- A complete translation of the whole document, including stamps, endorsements and marginal notes
- A signed and dated certificate of accuracy, with my credentials and contact details in the letterhead
- A QR code allowing visa officers to verify the translation
- A PDF ready to upload to your online application, and a paper copy on request
Visit and tourist visas
- Bank statements
- Employment certificate and payslips
- Trade register or proof of self-employment
- Property or rental documents
Student visas

- Birth certificate, when using a parent's funds
Work visas
- Diplomas and professional certificates
- Employment and experience certificates

Spouse and family visas
- Adoul marriage contract
- Birth certificates and family booklet
- Divorce, custody or kafala judgments

Tips
- Upload a scan of the original document together with its translation: the translation supports the original, it does not replace it.
- Make sure names are spelled as in the passports, consistently across all translations.
- Keep bank statements and administrative documents recent; see the guide to documents with limited validity.
- Send all documents at once, to save time and keep the translations consistent.
Requirements vary by country and authority, and they change over time. The instructions of the authority receiving your documents always prevail.
Send copies of your documents, and I will reply with a quote, the turnaround and the right steps for your file.
